  • Perfect Weekend

We had an excellent weekend.  We spent it at Kiptopeke State Park on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.  It’s a gorgeous area putting two of my favorite things right next to each other:  The Forest and The Beach.  I mean, you literally step out of the forest and you’re on a beach.  It’s fantastic.

Plus it’s not all built up with a lot of fast food and touristy stuff either.  It’s all farmland and forest.  Perfect.  So of course, I began daydreaming about us buying our retirement estate there, growing muscadines, honey, strawberries… brewing beer and making wine…. Ah, there I go, flying into the future again.

So I drag myself back into the present.

Today, my list of chores is actually not that long and should leave me plenty of time to review all the photos I took over the weekend, clean up stuff from this last trip and get ready for next weekend’s camping trip, and maybe finally make it to the bike store to trade in my old road bike for a new hybrid bike (suitable for long road rides or short urban jaunts).

And maybe even get something creative done, too.
